In preparation for the Extraordinary Summit of the ECOWAS authority of Heads of State scheduled for Saturday, February 24, Leonardo Santos Simão, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of the United Nations Office for West Africa and the Sahel (UNOWAS), convened a meeting on Friday, February 23, 2024.
