Streamlined application process announced for Nigerian Army DSSC recruitment

In a bid to facilitate a seamless application process for potential candidates, the Nigerian Army has unveiled a straightforward method for individuals seeking to join the Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC). The recruitment process is detailed below:

  1. Online Application:
    • Prospective candidates are instructed to visit the official Nigerian Army webpage at recruitment.army.mil.ng.
    • Upon accessing the website, applicants should navigate to the DSSC option on the page.
  2. Qualification Criteria:
    • Upon selection of the DSSC option, candidates will be redirected to a page outlining the qualification criteria for the ongoing DSSC courses.
  3. Application Form Submission:
    • Click on the “Apply Now” button corresponding to the DSSC category that aligns with the applicant’s qualifications and Corps preference.
  4. Prompt and Account Creation:
    • Respond to prompts regarding current or past service in the Armed Forces of Nigeria, selecting the appropriate option.
    • Those without an existing account should click on “Sign Up” and complete the verification process (verification will be sent to the provided email).
    • Alternatively, applicants with existing accounts can log in using their credentials.
  5. Document Upload:
    • Complete the application form and ensure the upload of the following required documents:
      • Passport photograph
      • Educational certificates
      • Evidence of membership in any professional body
      • Certificate of state of origin
      • Birth certificate or age declaration
      • National Identification Number (NIN) / Bank Verification Number (BVN)
  6. Photo-slip Printing:
    • Upon completion of the application, successful candidates must print out their online-generated photo-slip.
    • The first page of the photo-slip requires a signature from the Registrar of any Court of Law, while the second page should be signed by the applicant’s Local Government Chairman/Secretary or any military officer of the rank of Lieutenant Colonel or equivalent and above from the applicant’s state of origin.
  7. Examination and Interview Process:
    • Successful applicants will be required to take a written examination at assigned examination centers.
    • During the examination and subsequent interview with the Selection Board, candidates are to present their printed application forms, including the photo-slip, guarantor’s form, and attestation form.
