In a decisive move against terrorist enclaves, the Joint Task Force North West Operation HADARIN DAJI (OPHD) executed a successful clearance operation on November 21, 2023, in Tangaza Local Government Area of Sokoto state. Under the command of Major General Godwin Mutkut, the General Officer Commanding 8 Division Nigerian Army, the relentless troops showcased their commitment to eradicating terrorism in the North West region.
The operation targeted Alya Fulani village and Buani forest, resulting in the rescue of 30 individuals who had fallen victim to kidnapping by terrorists. The tactical efficiency of the troops ensured the destruction of identified terrorist hideouts, compelling the perpetrators to abandon their captives and hastily flee the area upon the arrival of the OPHD forces.
The gallant troops continued their mission to Goboro village, where an additional female kidnapping victim was successfully rescued. The terrorists and bandits, confronted with the overwhelming firepower and strategic prowess of the OPHD troops, scattered in disarray, leaving behind their criminal activities.
