President Bola Tinubu has expressed relief and satisfaction with the recent successful military operations against security threats in the North-West region of Nigeria.
In a statement Special Adviser to the President Information and Strategy Bayo Onanuga, the President commended the Nigerian military for their efforts in neutralizing key bandit leaders and disrupting terrorist activities.
On Thursday, troops of Operation Hadarin Daji eliminated a notorious bandit leader, Halilu Sububu, who had terrorized communities in Zamfara, Sokoto, and other parts of the region. In a separate joint operation in Katsina, another terrorist, Sani Wala Burki, was killed, while a terrorist enclave in Kaduna was dismantled, leading to the rescue of 13 kidnapped students.
These victories come in the wake of President Tinubu’s directive to military chiefs to relocate to the region until peace and stability are restored.
The President praised the military high command, intelligence agencies, and frontline troops for their dedication and synergy, urging them to maintain the momentum until all threats are eradicated. Tinubu also reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to supporting security forces in their mission to safeguard the nation.
