Troops of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have arrested a suspected terrorist kingpin, intercepted an ammunition courier and apprehended a suspected terrorist logistics supplier in separate operations across Kaduna State.
The military said the operations were conducted on September 9, 2026, as part of intensified efforts to dismantle terrorist networks and disrupt the movement of arms and logistics within the Joint Operations Area.
According to the Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force, Lieut. Col. Aliyu Danja, troops of Sector 1 conducted a clearance operation in the early hours of Wednesday at Dabar Dabo, a known terrorist hideout in Kubau Local Government Area.
During the operation, the troops arrested a suspected terrorist kingpin and two other members of his syndicate at the hideout. The suspects have been taken into military custody for further investigation.
In a separate operation the same day, troops acting on credible intelligence intercepted the movement of terrorist ammunition in Igabi Local Government Area and arrested a 50-year-old female ammunition courier.
The suspect was reportedly found in possession of 300 rounds of ammunition concealed in a bag.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect had travelled from Zamfara State to Lafia, where she allegedly received the ammunition for onward delivery to terrorists operating in Birnin Gwari, Kaduna State.
The suspect and the recovered ammunition remain in military custody as investigations continue.
Later that day, troops of Sector 1, working with a community vigilante group, also apprehended a suspected terrorist logistics supplier in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area.
A search of the suspect led to the recovery of four communication devices allegedly used by terrorists.
The military described the arrests and recoveries as significant operational successes, saying they demonstrated the troops’ commitment to disrupting terrorist networks, denying criminal elements freedom of action and preventing the movement of arms, ammunition and other logistics across the Joint Operations Area.
The Joint Task Force commended members of the public for their continued support and urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities to the nearest security agency.
