Troops of the Nigerian Army’s newly established 24 Armoured Brigade, operating under Operation UNITY HAVEN, have arrested three suspected armed robbers and recovered a rifle, ammunition and a stolen motorcycle in Langtang North Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The operation followed a distress call from Sabon Gida, Pil Gani Village, prompting the Acting Commander of the brigade to lead a patrol team to the scene.
On arrival, the troops found a victim who had sustained a gunshot wound to the forehead and immediately evacuated the injured person to a nearby medical facility for urgent treatment.
The troops subsequently joined forces with local vigilantes to conduct a coordinated search of the area, leading to the arrest of three suspects identified as John Nimmeyez, Nanzif Khmzif and Nanchaf Lamck.
Items recovered during the operation included a foldable FN rifle, nine rounds of 7.62mm NATO ammunition and a stolen motorcycle.

The suspects and recovered items are currently in the custody of the troops for further investigation and necessary action.
The Army said troops had intensified patrols across the area to prevent further attacks, restrict the movement of criminal elements and protect lives and property.
It added that the brigade would sustain collaboration with local vigilantes and other security stakeholders to combat criminal activities and strengthen security across its area of responsibility.
The operation underscores the importance of rapid response and community-based security collaboration in tackling armed robbery and other criminal activities in Plateau State.
