Troops of the 6 Brigade Nigerian Army/Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke have arrested two suspected kidnappers during a clearance operation in Karim Lamido Local Government Area of Taraba State.
The operation, carried out on September 19, 2025, followed credible intelligence on the activities of criminal elements in the Garau axis of Rafin Taba community. The suspects, identified as Ibrahim Umaru and Adamu Malam Musa, were apprehended in a swift raid on their hideout.
According to military authorities, the duo confessed to participating in multiple abductions within and beyond Taraba State, where large sums were collected as ransom. They also revealed that victims were sometimes moved into Plateau State, particularly the notorious Madam Forest, to evade security surveillance.
Commander 6 Brigade/Sector 3 OPWS, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, commended the troops for their professionalism and assured residents that clearance operations under Operation Lafiya Nakowa would continue until all criminal networks are dismantled.
The Nigerian Army urged members of the public to support ongoing operations by providing timely and credible information, while warning criminal elements to desist or face decisive action.
