Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA under the 2 Division/Sector 3 of the Nigerian Army have rescued two kidnapped victims in Efagi village, Lafiagi, Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State, following a swift response to a kidnap incident that occurred in the early hours of Friday, October 10, 2025.
According to a statement by Captain Stephen Nwankwo, Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, 22 Armoured Brigade, Ilorin, the troops stationed at the Lafiagi Patrol Base received a distress alert and immediately mobilised to the scene in collaboration with local vigilante groups.
The joint team engaged the kidnappers in a fierce gun battle, forcing them to abandon their captives and flee into the bush. The victims were safely rescued and later reunited with their families.
