Troops of Sector 2, Joint Task Force North East, Operation Hadin Kai, have intercepted two pick-up vans conveying logistics supplies suspected to be destined for Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists in Borno State.
In a statement, Media Information Officer Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI Lieut. Col. Sani Uba said the operation, carried out in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), followed credible intelligence indicating the movement of the consignment from Dapchi in Yobe State towards the Magumeri axis of Borno. Acting swiftly on the information, troops intercepted the vehicles along the route.
A search of the vehicles led to the recovery of a wide range of items believed to support terrorist logistics. These included two vehicles, 31 spare tyres, 23 spare rims, two bicycles, 12 ignition key starters, three alternators, bags of flour and charcoal, a mattress, 34 tubers of yam, blankets, bags of garri, assorted adult and children’s clothing, a power bank, six mobile phones, and cash in various denominations.
The drivers conveying the items were arrested and, along with the recovered materials, are currently in military custody for further interrogation.
Military authorities said the operation underscores the effectiveness of intelligence-led operations and sustained cooperation between troops and local security partners in disrupting terrorist supply networks.
Operation Hadin Kai reaffirmed its resolve to deny terrorist groups freedom of movement, dismantle their logistics chains and ensure the safety and security of communities across Nigeria’s North-East.
