In a bid to boost morale and recognize dedication, Brigadier General Emmanuel Egbe, Commander of the 33 Artillery Brigade, has urged his troops to maintain professionalism and unwavering commitment in their service to the nation.

Accoring to Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations, 33 Artillery Brigade Lieutenant Atang Solomon, this call to duty was made during a historic luncheon held at the Vulcan Officers’ Mess in Shadawanka Barracks, Bauchi.

The luncheon, the first of its kind, was organized to honor the troops for their exceptional dedication and professionalism. Highlights of their achievements include winning the 3 Division’s Warrant Officers and Senior Non-commissioned Officers Inter-Brigade Competition 2024, participating successfully in the Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL) 2024 in Jos, and providing security during the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja’s visit to Bauchi.

Brigadier General Egbe expressed his gratitude to Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, General Officer Commanding 3 Division and Commander Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH), for his guidance and support. He also thanked the COAS for his leadership and commitment to ensuring troop motivation, emphasizing that the luncheon aligns with the COAS’s command philosophy.

In his address, Brigadier General Egbe lauded the troops’ commendable performance and presented tokens of appreciation to soldiers who sustained injuries in the line of duty, underscoring the Nigerian Army’s commitment to their welfare. Young soldiers who demonstrated exceptional commitment were also recognized and rewarded, with the aim of inspiring continued excellence and motivating others.

Lieutenant Colonel Abdulrahman Moddibo, Acting Garrison Commander of the 33 Artillery Brigade, also spoke at the event, expressing his appreciation to Brigadier General Egbe for the motivational gesture. He encouraged the troops to persist in their exemplary service and urged officers to adopt similar initiatives to inspire their units.

The luncheon, attended by officers and soldiers of the 33 Artillery Brigade, Magajiyas, and Youth Corps members serving in Shadawanka Barracks, concluded with the presentation of souvenirs, merriment, and group photographs, making it a memorable event.
