Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have recorded another operational success after neutralising terrorists and rescuing abducted civilians during a coordinated offensive in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State.
Confirming the report, Media Information Officer Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI Lieut. Col. Sani Uba said the operation, carried out in the early hours of Saturday, 4 January 2026, was conducted in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF). Security forces engaged terrorist elements at a known crossing point along the Sojiri axis, leading to a brief but decisive encounter.
He said five terrorists were neutralised during the operation, with no casualties recorded among the troops. Three civilians abducted by the terrorists were also rescued unharmed.

Items recovered from the scene included AK-47 rifles and other assorted materials believed to belong to the terrorist group.
The successful operation underscores the sustained commitment of Operation HADIN KAI to aggressive offensive actions aimed at degrading terrorist capabilities, while prioritising the protection of civilians. It also highlights the critical role of collaboration with local security stakeholders in counterterrorism efforts.
Military authorities said troops’ morale remains high, with security forces maintaining dominance across the theatre of operations despite evolving security challenges. Operation HADIN KAI reaffirmed its resolve to dismantle terrorist networks and restore lasting peace and stability in Nigeria’s North East region.
