Nigerian Army troops, deployed for counter-terrorism operations in the North West region, collaborated with a team from the Department of State Services (DSS) in a swift and coordinated effort to prevent a potential disaster and safeguard lives in Sokoto State. Responding to a distress call, they intercepted an armed terrorist group on a rampage in the Modachi general area of Isa Local Government Area.
This joint operation resulted in the elimination of several terrorists and the recovery of a significant cache of arms. The terrorists, traveling with multiple motorbikes, encountered strong resistance from the security forces, leading to the neutralization of seven individuals.
In addition to thwarting the attack, the troops seized seven AK-47 rifles, four motorbikes, two mobile phones, and four machetes. This successful operation underscores the dedication of the security forces in combating terrorism and restoring peace in troubled regions. The swift and decisive response undoubtedly averted a potential disaster and saved numerous lives in Sokoto State.
