Troops of 6 Brigade, Nigerian Army, and Sector 3 of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) have made significant progress in the ongoing fight against crime and terrorism with the arrest of three suspected bandits and a key logistics supplier linked to terrorist activities in Taraba State.
Acting on credible intelligence, a special operation was launched on October 7, 2024, in the Andamin general area of Karim Lamido Local Government Area (LGA), resulting in the capture of the suspected bandits at Jeb-Jeb, a border community between Taraba and Plateau States. The suspects, identified as Adamu Abubakar, Mohammed Bello, and Musa Adamu, are alleged to be involved in a series of criminal activities, including armed robbery, kidnapping, and violent assaults on local communities. These arrests are part of 6 Brigade’s broader efforts to combat inter-state criminality in the region. Preliminary investigations suggest the suspects have been active in criminal operations for several years, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend other members of the syndicate.
In a separate operation in Bunka village, Lau LGA, troops also apprehended a key logistics supplier, Musa Inusa, who is suspected of providing crucial support to a notorious terrorist group in the area. Inusa’s arrest is expected to severely disrupt the group’s supply chain and weaken its operational capabilities. Items recovered from him include a jackknife, 2,460 naira in cash, wraps of a substance suspected to be Indian hemp, and other illicit drugs. Investigations are continuing to assess the full scope of his involvement with terrorist and criminal networks in the state.
The 6 Brigade of the Nigerian Army reaffirmed its commitment to the ongoing fight against banditry and terrorism, urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to law enforcement agencies.
