In a significant victory against terrorism, the Joint Task Force North West Operation HADARIN DAJI (OPHD) has achieved yet another milestone in its ongoing dry season clearance operations in Zamfara state.
Information Officer of Operation HADARIN DAJI, Lieutenant Suleiman Omale said during a recent operation, OPHD troops executed a successful ambush, rescuing 8 kidnap victims unharmed. The operation, conducted on February 28, 2024, targeted terrorist enclaves at the Bayan Ruwa axis, a suspected hub for terrorist activities within the state.
Engaging the terrorists in a fierce gun battle, the troops demonstrated superior combat capabilities, compelling the insurgents to flee in disarray, abandoning their captives. The timely intervention of the troops led to the safe recovery of all 8 kidnap victims.
Furthermore, the gallant troops, in addition to neutralizing numerous terrorists, eradicated their enclaves, asserting control over the area through robust and confidence-building patrols.
All rescued individuals were promptly handed over to the appropriate authorities for reunification with their families.
Major General Godwin Mutkut, Commander of the Joint Task Force North West Operation HADARIN DAJI and General Officer Commanding 8 Division Nigerian Army, commended the unwavering dedication and resilience of the troops in their mission to restore peace and normalcy in the Northwest region.
