Troops of Operation HADARIN DAJI reports successful rescue operation and neutralization of terrorists in Katsina

Troops of the Joint Task Force North West Operation HADARIN DAJI (OPHD) have executed a meticulously planned clearance operation, resulting in the rescue of 35 kidnapped victims and the neutralization of 2 terrorists in Katsina state. The operation, conducted on 27 January 2024, targeted identified terrorist camps within the Dumburum forest.

Information Officer for Operation HADARIN DAJI, Captain Yahaya Ibrahim affirmed the dedication of the troops to ongoing clearance operations in the North West.

He said the successful rescue and neutralization of terrorists underscore the Joint Task Force’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety of the populace and dismantling terrorist networks in the region.

Ibrahim added that the successful mission unfolded as troops engaged in a search and rescue operation, encountering armed terrorists during the clearance operation. In the ensuing engagement, 2 terrorists were neutralized, while the remaining assailants managed to escape with severe gunshot wounds.

Among the rescued victims were 19 males, 12 females, and 4 children. The rescued individuals were promptly handed over to the Katsina state Government by the Commander of the 17 Brigade Nigerian Army/Sector 2 Operation HADARIN DAJI, Brigadier General OA Fadairo. General Fadairo, in a statement, pledged to sustain efforts in combating terrorist enclaves, emphasizing the commitment of the Joint Task Force to the security and well-being of the region.
