Troops Operation HADARIN DAJI neutralizes terrorists, rescues victims, and recovers arms in Sokoto

In a relentless effort to ensure a secure environment during the festive season, the combined troops of the Joint Task Force North West Operation HADARIN DAJI (OPHD) executed a meticulously coordinated clearance and offensive operation against terrorists in Sokoto state.

On the 14th of December, 2023, the OPHD forces targeted Bauni village and Bauni forest in the state, engaging in a protracted gun duel with the terrorists. The troops demonstrated exceptional aggressiveness and firepower superiority, compelling the terrorists to abandon their hideouts and scatter in disarray.

This decisive operation resulted in the successful rescue of six kidnapped victims, marking a significant triumph for the security forces. Additionally, three terrorists were neutralized in the exchange, and two AK47 rifles, 19 magazines, ammunition, two dane guns, motorcycles, radios (walkie-talkies), and various other items were recovered from the fleeing insurgents.

All identified terrorist enclaves were promptly destroyed, including the recovered motorcycles, as part of the immediate and thorough response by the OPHD forces. The operation underscores the commitment of the Joint Task Force to safeguarding the lives and well-being of citizens in its areas of responsibility, particularly during the holiday season.
