The United States Diplomatic Mission in Nigeria has announced the temporary suspension of regular updates on its official Facebook page due to a lapse in U.S. government appropriations.
In a notice issued on the platform, the Mission said the account will not be updated routinely until full operations resume, except for the dissemination of urgent safety and security information.
The Mission, however, clarified that scheduled passport and visa services in the United States and at U.S. Embassies and Consulates worldwide are expected to continue during the funding lapse, as circumstances permit.
It added that members of the public seeking information on consular services and the Mission’s operating status should rely on official channels until normal operations are fully restored.
