The British High Commission in Nigeria, in partnership with Manufacturing Africa, has hosted an Investor Night featuring six Nigerian startups from the UK-funded Green Business Building (GBB) Accelerator Programme, each pitching innovative sustainable manufacturing solutions after 16 weeks of intensive training and mentorship.
The startups operate across renewable energy, recycling, organic agriculture, and electric mobility. According to a statement from the British High Commission on Tuesday, GreenSpace Recycling, Sirius-X Energy, Auxano Solar, Taeillo, ZOOMe and Veggie Victory presented their business models to an audience of venture capitalists, impact investors, and key ecosystem players. The session marked a major step toward securing funding and strategic partnerships.

Designed in a pitch-den format, the event showcased each company’s climate-friendly innovations and their potential to scale for long-term economic and environmental impact. Funders also provided real-time feedback, with some expressing interest in potential investment.
The gathering was attended by Jonny Baxter, the UK Deputy High Commissioner to Nigeria, alongside other High Commission officials, prominent investors, and stakeholders from Nigeria’s sustainable business ecosystem.
The accelerator forms part of the UK–Nigeria partnership to catalyse investment in green industrial growth and scale small, innovative businesses capable of driving job creation across emerging industries.

Simon Field, Deputy Head of Mission at the British Deputy High Commission in Lagos, said: “Manufacturing is Nigeria’s future — and these businesses show how it can also be greener, more inclusive, and globally competitive. I have nothing but confidence in the programme we’re funding. Every pitch tonight was professional, inspiring, and full of ambition.”
Kemi Onabanjo, Country Lead for Manufacturing Africa Nigeria, added: “Tonight was about celebrating progress and unlocking profitable connections. These founders have grown remarkably through the GBB programme, and the event helped bridge the gap between innovation and investment.”

Startup founders also praised the accelerator. Jumoke Dada, CEO of Taeillo, said the programme provided practical support and clarity for future growth, while ZOOMe CEO Adedayo Odunlami described the experience as “world-class,” noting that it helped strengthen both their business model and leadership approach.
