In a significant event hosted at the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), Mr. Matthias Schmale, the UN Resident Coordinator in Nigeria, collaborated with Dr. Tony Ojukwu, the Chief Executive of the NHRC, to unveil the Universal Declaration of Human Rights Commemorative Board.
This unveiling marked a crucial milestone within a week-long series of activities meticulously organized to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
During the ceremonial introduction of the initiative, Mr. Schmale underscored the critical importance of disseminating knowledge about the Universal Declaration of Human Rights across diverse segments of society.
He stressed that raising awareness is imperative to empower individuals at all levels, enabling them to fully exercise and enjoy their inherent and fundamental human rights.
