EFCC apprehends 13 suspected internet fraudsters in Abuja

In a targeted operation, operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abuja Zonal Command, have successfully apprehended 13 individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud within the Abuja metropolis.

The arrests, which occurred in the Kubwa axis of Abuja, were made possible through actionable intelligence gathered by the EFCC regarding the alleged involvement of these individuals in various internet-related offenses.

Among the suspects taken into custody, 12 are male, while one is female, reflecting the diverse demographic of individuals allegedly involved in cybercrime activities.

During the operation, law enforcement officers seized a total of 12 mobile phones and laptops from the suspects, which are believed to have been used in the commission of their illicit activities.

Following their arrest, the suspects are currently undergoing thorough investigation by the EFCC. Once investigations are concluded, they will be formally charged and brought before the court to face prosecution in accordance with the law.

The EFCC remains committed to combating cybercrime and ensuring that perpetrators are brought to justice, thereby safeguarding the integrity of Nigeria’s digital landscape.
