Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State attributed the state’s relative peace and security to effective collaboration between the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) and other security agencies during a meeting with Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar.
According to Director of Public Relations and Information Nigerian Air Force, Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, speaking at the Government House on Monday, May 13, 2024, Governor Mohammed praised NAF’s air power support in tackling criminal activities in flashpoints such as Alkaleri, Tafawa Balewa, and Ningi. He emphasized the crucial role of good governance in addressing Nigeria’s complex security challenges, highlighting the negative impact of ineffective local government administration, especially in the north, which has led to ungoverned spaces where criminals can operate.
“The need for local government administrations to be given the relevance they deserve is thus important,” the governor stated.

Air Marshal Abubakar commended Governor Mohammed’s commitment to development through infrastructure and agricultural projects like the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones (SAPZ). He noted that SAPZ would enhance food and job security, contribute to the state’s GDP, and reduce crime.
During his visit, Air Marshal Abubakar also met with the Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji (Dr) Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu, who lauded the NAF’s Special Operations Command (SOC) for its free medical outreach programs in the state.
Air Marshal Abubakar’s visit to Bauchi was part of his operational tour of SOC, Bauchi.
