Fubara hints at judicial probe into predecessor Wike’s administration

Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has indicated plans to establish a judicial panel of inquiry to investigate the governance of the state prior to his tenure.

During the swearing-in ceremony of Mr. Dagogo Israel Iboroma, SAN, as the new Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice at Government House in Port Harcourt on Monday, Governor Fubara revealed his intention to scrutinize past administrations.

Governor Fubara underscored the necessity of appointing the new Attorney-General at a critical juncture, given the numerous legal challenges requiring bold and courageous action. He expressed disappointment that the ongoing political crisis, which he hoped would be resolved internally, remains unresolved.

Despite this setback, Governor Fubara highlighted his administration’s progress, noting the functioning State House of Assembly and the appointment of a seasoned legal expert as Attorney-General.

In his remarks, Governor Fubara criticized former Attorney-General Prof. Zaccheaus Adangor for allegedly undermining the administration he served. He also dismissed suggestions that his rise to governorship was a mistake, affirming his belief in divine purpose.
