Troops of the Nigerian Army engaged in counter-terrorism operations in Kaduna State successfully ambushed a group of terrorists in the Birnin Gwari area on Wednesday, May 15, 2024.
According to military sources, acting on actionable intelligence, the troops positioned themselves around Kwaga Village, intercepting the terrorists known for perpetrating violence within the Birnin Gwari Local Government Area.
The sources added that during the ambush, one terrorist was neutralized while the others fled in disarray.
The swift and decisive action of the troops averted a potential attack on innocent civilians and led to the recovery of significant weaponry, including two AK-47 rifles with magazines and two motorbikes. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining terrorists who escaped the scene.
