Families affected by the 2022 floods in Sierra Leone have received humanitarian assistance worth $690,719 from the ECOWAS Commission.
The aid distribution was launched by the Government of Sierra Leone with the presence of ECOWAS Resident Representative Amb. Harouna Moussa. Sierra Leone’s Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Honourable Kenya Ballay, emphasized the importance of this assistance, which will benefit affected individuals across eight districts.
The relief package includes food supplies, financial assistance, and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) essentials. These items are being distributed to six thousand verified beneficiaries in collaboration with the Achievers Foundation.
This initiative is part of the ECOWAS Commission’s ongoing efforts to provide humanitarian assistance to affected communities in member states.
