CDS joins North Central peace summit, launches presidential initiative in Jos

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa (OFR), attended the official launch of the Presidential Community Engagement Peace Initiative (PCEPI) and the North Central Peace Summit in Jos, Plateau State, on 5 June 2025.

The event, held at Crispan Suites and Event Centre, was organized by the Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement (North Central), Dr. Mrs. Abiodun Essiet. The summit aimed to foster peace and social cohesion across the region by establishing community-based peace groups in every ward of the North Central zone.

General Musa participated in the summit’s FIRE SIDE CHAT segment, discussing security challenges and proposing solutions to boost peaceful coexistence and socio-economic activities in the region.

Accompanying the CDS were the GOC 3 Division Nigerian Army and Commander of Operation SAFE HAVEN, Major General EF Oyinlola, as well as Principal Staff Officers from the Defence Headquarters.
