Tuggar urges prayers for global peace and stability during Eid al-Adha

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, has urged Muslims to use the Eid al-Adha celebration to pray for peace and stability at home and across the world.

In a statement signed by his Special Assistant on Media and Communications Strategy, Alkasim Abdulkadir, Tuggar specifically called for prayers for troubled regions like Gaza, Sudan, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, where conflict continues to harm innocent civilians.

He extended warm greetings to the Muslim community and all Nigerians, highlighting that Eid al-Adha is a time of reflection, sacrifice, and renewed faith. Tuggar emphasized the importance of embodying the virtues of obedience, resilience, and selflessness demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and reinforced by Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

The Minister also expressed solidarity with internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Nigeria and offered condolences to the people of Mokwa, Niger State, who suffered devastating floods last month. He encouraged Nigerians to support humanitarian efforts and to remember the courage of the nation’s security personnel during the festive season.

Tuggar reaffirmed his commitment to promoting Nigeria’s interests globally through principled diplomacy, urging all to draw strength from the festival’s message and recommit to unity and national renewal.
