APC hails Rivers LG poll victory, dismisses Atiku’s allegations

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed gratitude to the people of Rivers State following its victory in the local government elections held on Saturday, where the party secured 20 out of the 23 chairmanship seats contested.

In a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the APC described the outcome as a clear demonstration of the people’s confidence in the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Renewed Hope Agenda.

The party commended its leaders, members, and supporters for their efforts, while also acknowledging the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) and security agencies for ensuring what it described as a peaceful and transparent exercise.

APC urged the newly elected chairmen to deliver people-oriented governance and meaningful development across the state.

The statement, however, dismissed allegations of irregularities made by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, describing them as baseless and an attempt to stir tension. It further accused Atiku of seeking to deflect attention from what it called the poor performance of his political platform.

Reiterating its appreciation to Rivers State voters, the APC assured that it remains committed to building a stronger, more united state in the interest of all residents.
