NIMC trains entire workforce to boost service delivery

The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has placed all 3,780 of its staff members nationwide on comprehensive capacity-building programmes to enhance service delivery.

According to the Commission’s spokesman, Dr. Kayode Adegoke, the training spans all departments and units in line with President Bola Tinubu’s directive for continuous staff development across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).

Adegoke noted that staff training in NIMC had been minimal since its inception, but the leadership of the Director-General/CEO, Engr. (Dr.) Abisoye Coker-Odusote, has transformed the trajectory. “All NIMC staff, irrespective of cadre, have undergone or are still undergoing training designed to deliver on the Renewed Hope Agenda,” he said.

He added that staff across states and local government offices have expressed appreciation for the DG’s visionary leadership, which has also driven several welfare initiatives. These include distributing over 2,500 enrollment devices to aid data capturing, securing a 25%–35% salary increment, introducing extra transport allowances, and providing free buses for headquarters staff.

Other initiatives highlighted include improved work tools, modern office furniture, and inclusive welfare packages that have boosted staff morale nationwide.

Adegoke emphasized that under Coker-Odusote’s leadership, NIMC is building a motivated workforce capable of meeting the administration’s vision for efficient identity management services.
