The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) FCT Command has arrested 254 traffic offenders, including a military impersonator, and secured 245 convictions during a Mobile Court exercise under its ongoing Operation Restore Sanity IV.
The sittings, held from 8–12 September 2025 at Nyanya Unit Command and on 10 September at Karu Unit Command, were conducted in collaboration with the Nigerian Correctional Service and the Brigade of Guards of the Nigerian Army. The crackdown targeted rising traffic indiscipline along the busy Abuja–Nyanya corridor, notorious for reckless driving, route violations, and overloading.
Seven repeat offenders—Shaab Murtala, Abel Sunday, Sunday Salasi, Benjamin Augustine, Ekem Charles, Hussaini Kabir, and Samsudeen Abdullahi—were found guilty of multiple violations. Sentences ranged from three hours to five days of community service. Notably, Hussaini Kabir, who impersonated the military while committing traffic offences, was ordered to serve five days of community service at Mambilla Barracks.
The Mobile Court sessions were presided over by Magistrates Maryam Muazu Alhaji and Huzaifa Maccido, with CRC Cindy Talabi prosecuting on behalf of the Corps.
FRSC Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed commended the FCT Command for sustaining targeted enforcement operations, stressing that similar Mobile Court exercises will be replicated nationwide to curb indiscipline and promote road safety.
He warned motorists against dangerous driving, overloading, and route violations, reaffirming the Corps’ commitment to safeguarding lives and restoring order on Nigerian roads.
