Otuaro seeks quality furniture, woodwork training for PAP beneficiaries

The Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Dr. Dennis Otuaro, has announced plans to introduce high-quality vocational training in furniture, woodwork, and sustainable design for beneficiaries of the programme.

Otuaro disclosed this on Monday during visits to the Julius Berger Nigeria Plc Associated Furniture Producers (AFP) showroom and industrial factory, as well as PrimeTech facilities in Abuja. He was received by Julius Berger AFP General Manager, Oliver Cohnen, and the company’s Head of Corporate Security and Compliance, Poul Nielsen.

The PAP boss said the initiative is part of efforts to equip ex-agitators with world-class skills that would enable them to produce furniture and designs of international standards, boosting socio-economic development in the Niger Delta and beyond.

“My interest is for our youths to acquire high-quality training that will make them useful to themselves, the region, and the country,” Otuaro said, adding that the visits were necessary to assess facilities capable of delivering global-standard training.

He commended the creativity, finishing, and durability of the products at the Julius Berger AFP showroom, stressing that President Bola Tinubu had mandated him to take the programme closer to the people and create opportunities for sustainable empowerment.
