Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, has declared that the state remains a firm stronghold of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and is fully committed to the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Zulum made the assertion on Monday during the flag-off of the APC Northeast e-registration workshop held in Maiduguri. The event brought together national and state party leaders, local government chairmen, as well as lawmakers from the region, to advance the party’s digital membership registration drive.
The governor pledged his administration’s full support for the success of the exercise, noting that Borno would also assist APC members in states governed by other political parties to register successfully.
“Let there be no doubt in anyone’s mind, Borno State is 100 percent for the APC. Our loyalty to the party and its leadership is absolute,” Zulum declared.

He credited the APC-led federal government for transforming the state’s fortunes since coming to power, recalling how Borno was once crippled by insecurity and economic hardship before the party’s intervention.
“Before the APC came to power, Borno State was on its knees. Our local governments were under siege, our economy was shattered, and our people were living in fear. But today, the narrative has changed due to the relentless efforts of the APC-led federal government,” he said.
Zulum lauded the roles played by former President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration and the establishment of the North East Development Commission (NEDC) in rebuilding the state. He also commended President Tinubu for sustaining and strengthening federal support toward peace restoration and the resettlement of displaced persons.
“The evidence is clear for all to see. The APC government at the federal level has been a true partner in our journey from the storm to normalcy,” he added.
The governor called on the people of Borno to begin mobilizing support for President Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, describing his leadership as “visionary and committed to Nigeria’s progress.”
