Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), the Joint Task Force North East, have rescued 86 kidnapped victims and arrested 29 logistics suppliers in a series of coordinated counter-terrorism operations across Borno State.
According to a statement issued on Sunday by Major General Sani Uba, Media Information Officer of the operation, troops of the 135 Special Forces Battalion, under Sector 2 OPHK, engaged Boko Haram and Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists on November 9, 2025, at Dutse Kura, after discovering that insurgents were abducting civilians and vehicles along the Buratai–Kamuya Road.

The troops swiftly responded, thwarting the attack and pursuing the fleeing insurgents toward Mangari, where they overpowered them in a follow-up encounter near a terrorist camp. During clearance operations, 86 kidnapped victims—comprising men, women, and children—were rescued, while 11 makeshift terrorist structures were discovered and destroyed.
Recovered items included one AK-47 rifle, five magazines with 73 rounds, four PKT ammunition belts, five civilian vehicles, five motorcycles, eight bicycles, and two logistics tricycles.
In a separate operation, troops deployed at Mangada arrested 29 terrorist logistics suppliers heading toward Chilaria with large quantities of contraband. Items seized from them included two pickup trucks, a tricycle loaded with 1,000 litres of petrol, four gallons of engine oil, two new gun truck tyres, medical consumables, and food supplies intended for insurgents.
The military confirmed that all operations were executed without any casualties among troops.
The Military High Command commended the gallantry and professionalism of the troops, urging them to sustain the momentum and continue denying terrorists freedom of action across the North-East theatre of operations.
