NAF airstrikes crush terror cells in Katsina, thwart ISWAP attack in Chibok

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has intensified counterterrorism operations across the North-West and North-East, delivering precision airstrikes that dismantled multiple terror cells and halted a major insurgent offensive.

Confirming the report, Director of Public Relations and Information, Nigerian Air Force Headquarters Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame said in Katsina State, NAF aircraft under Operation FANSAN YAMMA (OPFY) Sector 2 carried out two intelligence-led strikes on 27 November 2025. The first, conducted at about 6:30 a.m., targeted the fortified base of a notorious terrorist commander responsible for kidnappings, violent attacks and livestock rustling across Kankara, Faskari and Malumfashi Local Government Areas. The strike—directed by real-time Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR)—destroyed the camp, while follow-on engagements neutralised fleeing fighters.

A second strike at about 5:55 p.m. hit another major hideout in Danfako, Faskari LGA, destroying logistics hubs, structures and operational equipment, and eliminating several terrorists attempting to regroup.

In Borno State, NAF air support proved decisive as troops of the 28 Task Force Brigade, Sector 4 of Operation HADIN KAI repelled a multi-front ISWAP/Boko Haram assault on Chibok. Guided by ground-based intelligence, NAF aircraft conducted four strikes on regrouping insurgents along their withdrawal route, inflicting significant casualties and disrupting their ability to reorganise. Additional precision strikes on fleeing fighters further weakened the hostile elements.

The coordinated air–ground response protected the community, prevented the escalation of the attack and degraded the operational capacity of the insurgents.

The NAF said the latest operations reaffirm its commitment to precision engagements, restoring security and protecting citizens across the country, while pledging continued collaboration with ground forces and other security agencies to restore lasting peace.
