Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu has commenced a local government consultation tour ahead of the forthcoming senatorial primary, beginning with a visit to Ovia North East Local Government Area in Edo State.
The engagement, which held in Okada, the administrative headquarters of the council, brought together leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), including local government executives, ward chairmen and party members.
The former governorship candidate used the occasion to formally declare his intention to seek the party’s ticket for the senatorial contest and appealed for broad-based support from delegates and party structures.

He stressed the importance of unity within the party, urging members to rally behind a candidate with longstanding involvement in party development and internal cohesion.
Ize-Iyamu also made a case for equity in political representation, noting that Orhionmwon Local Government Area has never produced a senator. He argued that his aspiration would promote inclusiveness while strengthening party unity and electoral prospects in the district.
The visit marks the beginning of a planned series of engagements across Edo South Senatorial District as consultations intensify ahead of the primary election.
