Troops of Operation ENDURING PEACE have intensified operations across Plateau State, rescuing two kidnapped victims and disrupting the activities of suspected terrorists operating in parts of the state.
The operations, conducted across various Local Government Areas as part of efforts to deny criminal elements freedom of action, have recorded significant successes, according to eyewitnesses and community leaders.
At about 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, troops of Sector 3 deployed in Bassa Local Government Area launched a search-and-rescue operation following credible intelligence on the abduction of Mr Ndubuisi Onuigbo.
The operation culminated in the successful rescue of the victim, who was subsequently debriefed and reunited with his family.
In a separate operation in the early hours of Wednesday, August 26, troops of Sector 2, deployed at Kukawa village in Kanam Local Government Area, encountered suspected terrorists during a fighting patrol.
The troops mounted an aggressive pursuit, forcing the suspected terrorists to flee and abandon a kidnapped victim, identified as Mallam Sambo Abdullahi, who was subsequently rescued.
The victim was debriefed and reunited with his family.
Commander of Operation ENDURING PEACE, Major General Maxwell Dangana, commended the troops for their professionalism, courage and decisive actions in disrupting criminal activities and restoring peace across the joint operations area.
Dangana also urged residents to remain calm and vigilant and called for continued support and cooperation with the security forces to enable them effectively accomplish their mandate.
The operation is part of ongoing efforts to restore enduring peace and security across Plateau State.
