- We will follow Shaibu to any party, says Apostle Suleiman’s father
General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries International, Apostle Johnson Suleman, on Sunday, said he owes the Edo State Governor and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Godwin Obaseki, a debt of gratitude for saving his life and that of his family from assassins in 2018.
He shared that these malevolent individuals had sinister plans to open fire on them during a New Year’s church service. However, Governor Obaseki, acting swiftly, received intelligence about the impending danger and dispatched security personnel to thwart the assassination plot. This courageous intervention not only saved Apostle Suleman’s life but also safeguarded the lives of his family members.

In a heartfelt statement, Apostle Suleman emphasized that his allegiance does not lie in politics, as he is not a politician and doesn’t receive monetary incentives for his words. Instead, he spoke the truth as he saw it. He expressed his unwavering gratitude to Governor Obaseki, recognizing that it was through the governor’s actions that he and his family had been preserved. He stressed that time and eternity would bear witness to the depth of his appreciation for this act of salvation.
Governor Obaseki, in turn, expressed his gratitude to the Christian community and religious leaders, acknowledging their vital support and cooperation throughout the challenging period of the COVID-19 pandemic. He recounted how the church had been a pillar of strength during those trying times, helping him navigate the uncertainties. The governor also shared his recent experiences while campaigning across all 192 wards of the state, expressing his relief that no accidents occurred during the extensive journey.

Hon. Imoudu Sule, the clergy’s father, expressed his heartfelt thanks to the governor and his deputy for their instrumental role in preserving the life of his son. He pledged his full support for Governor Obaseki’s re-election campaign and vowed to mobilize other voters in solidarity. He emphasized the profound impact Apostle Suleman had on his family and the Omega Fire Ministry community, referring to him as the life force that sustains them.
Rt. Hon. Comr. Philip Shaibu, the deputy governor, commended Apostle Suleman for his unwavering sincerity and straightforwardness, noting that the clergyman’s honesty set him apart. Shaibu highlighted their shared commitment to a violence-free election and the importance of adhering to the rules to ensure the betterment of Edo State. He reassured the church that God was working towards the state’s improvement and emphasized their dedication to a peaceful electoral process.
