APPFLON seeks EFCC collaboration to combat fraud in blue and green economies

The Africa Association of Professional Freight Forwarders and Logistics of Nigeria (APPFLON) has reached out to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to forge a partnership aimed at curbing fraudulent activities within the nation’s blue and green economies.

This initiative was highlighted on Thursday, August 22, 2024, during a courtesy visit by APPFLON’s President, Otunba Frank Ogunojemite, to the Lagos Zonal Director of the EFCC, Michael T. Wetkas.

Commending the EFCC’s efforts in the fight against corruption, Ogunojemite described the visit as a “significant milestone” for the Association. “We applaud the EFCC’s strides to promote integrity in our industry and society,” he stated, emphasizing that the proposed partnership would enhance the battle against corruption and foster ethical practices in the logistics and freight forwarding sector.

In response, Wetkas affirmed the EFCC’s readiness to collaborate with APPFLON to address corruption within Nigeria’s blue and green economies.
