The Executive Secretary and CEO of the National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF), Tosin Adeyanju, has commended the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for recovering over N9 billion owed to the Fund.
The praise came during a courtesy visit on Friday, August 23, 2024, when Adeyanju and his team met with EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede at the Commission’s headquarters.
Describing the recovery as a significant achievement, Adeyanju highlighted its impact on the NLTF’s ability to support the federal government in providing social and physical infrastructure across Nigeria. “This recovery ensures that the Trust Fund can fulfill its role in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda,” he stated.

Adeyanju further lauded Olukoyede for his effectiveness in combating corruption, noting that the EFCC had recovered over N200 billion and $58 million in just ten months under his leadership. He urged the EFCC to continue its efforts to recover outstanding lottery proceeds, stressing the importance of these funds for sustaining the NLTF’s interventions nationwide.
In response, Olukoyede congratulated Adeyanju on his appointment and emphasized the importance of maintaining integrity in handling the recovered funds. He assured the NLTF of the EFCC’s continued collaboration in debt recovery, reiterating that it is a statutory obligation of the Commission to recover funds for the government and its agencies.
“Every kobo we recover goes to you,” Olukoyede stated, underlining the EFCC’s commitment to supporting the NLTF and other government bodies in fulfilling their mandates.
