The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, has urged residents of Evbuarhue community in Orhionmwon Local Government Area to collaborate with the Nigerian Army and other security agencies to foster a secure and development-friendly environment.
The COAS, represented by Major General ND Shagaya, Commandant of the Nigerian Army School of Supply and Transport, made this call on December 5, 2024, during the commissioning of the Chief of Army Staff’s Special Intervention Civil-Military Cooperation Projects (CSICP). The initiatives, executed under the leadership of Major General KO Osemwigie, include a newly built Community Health Center and refurbished classroom blocks at Aghimieh Primary School.
In his address, the COAS highlighted the Army’s commitment to employing non-kinetic strategies to address security challenges while improving the quality of life in host communities. He encouraged residents to maintain the facilities to ensure their long-term impact.
Major General NC Ugbo, Chief of Civil-Military Affairs (Army), represented by Brigadier General BS Keji, commended the COAS for funding the projects. Local leaders expressed gratitude to the Nigerian Army, pledging their continued support and cooperation.
These interventions underscore the Army’s efforts to build stronger ties with civilians and promote trust nationwide.
