Barau mourns death of two Kano assembly lawmakers

The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of two members of the Kano State House of Assembly.

The deceased lawmakers are Hon. Aminu Saad Ungogo, who represented Ungogo Constituency, and Hon. Sarki Aliyu Daneji, the lawmaker for Kano Municipal Constituency. Both lawmakers passed away on Tuesday.

In a statement issued by his media aide, Malam Ismail Mudashir, Senator Barau, who also serves as the First Deputy Speaker of the ECOWAS Parliament, extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased, their constituents and the Kano State Government.

He described the deaths as painful losses to the Kano State legislature and the democratic process, praying for divine mercy for the departed lawmakers.

“My heartfelt condolences go to the families of the late lawmakers, their constituents and the Kano State Government. May Almighty Allah forgive their shortcomings, grant them Jannatul Firdaus, and give their loved ones the strength to bear these irreparable losses,” he said.
