The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, on February 18, 2026, paid a courtesy visit to former Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Isiaka Oladayo Amao (Rtd), as part of ongoing legacy engagements aimed at reinforcing institutional continuity within the Nigerian Air Force (NAF).
The visit underscored the Service’s commitment to maintaining strong ties with its past leadership while leveraging their institutional experience to guide present operations and strategic direction.

During the interaction, Air Marshal Aneke acknowledged Amao’s contributions to enhancing the NAF’s operational capacity and advancing key institutional reforms during his tenure. He noted that sustained dialogue with former Chiefs provides valuable insight that supports informed decision-making and long-term planning.
The CAS emphasised that engaging past leaders fosters continuity, mentorship and respect for established traditions—core elements essential to strengthening the Service’s cohesion and effectiveness.
The meeting also reflected a shared sense of pride in the NAF’s institutional evolution and its expanding role in national security operations.
The Nigerian Air Force, under Air Marshal Aneke’s leadership, has continued to prioritise professional development and strategic collaboration as part of efforts to consolidate operational gains and reinforce service unity.
