CAS pledges support for Nollywood, hosts Toyin Abraham

The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, has affirmed the Nigerian Air Force’s (NAF) support for Nollywood, the nation’s vibrant film industry. During a meeting at his office today, he welcomed renowned Nollywood actor Toyin Abraham.

According to Director of Public Relations and Information, Nigerian Air Force Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, Air Marshal Abubakar expressed his admiration for Abraham’s significant contributions to Nigerian cinema, recognizing Nollywood’s role in promoting Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage and its international influence. He emphasized the potential of Nollywood to enhance the image of the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) by showcasing their achievements, particularly in combating crime.

Highlighting the importance of this collaboration, the CAS assured Abraham of NAF’s support, including providing equipment for film projects that present the AFN positively.

Toyin Abraham conveyed her enthusiasm for the partnership, underscoring the power of storytelling in bridging societal gaps and promoting unity. She committed to projects that highlight the dedication and bravery of NAF personnel. Her visit focused on securing NAF equipment for her upcoming movie, “Alakada; Bad and Bougee.”

Accompanied by her manager, Mr. Samuel Olatunji, Abraham, known for her roles in “Celebrity Marriage” and “The Ghost and the Tout,” aims to portray the NAF in a commendable light through her work.
