The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, has assured Nigerian Air Force (NAF) personnel of the service’s unwavering commitment to their welfare and operational effectiveness. He gave this assurance on 31 March 2025 while hosting the annual Sallah Luncheon with troops of the Air Component, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, in Katsina State.
Represented by the Air Officer Commanding Special Operations Command, Air Vice Marshal Usman Kandi Abdullahi, the CAS commended the troops for their dedication, resilience, and professionalism in safeguarding national security. He praised their efforts in air interdiction missions, disrupting enemy supply chains, and executing precision strikes, which have significantly weakened adversary capabilities.
Acknowledging the challenges of military operations, Air Marshal Abubakar urged the troops to remain steadfast in their mission to restore peace and security. “Our mandate is clear, and we will press forward with determination until total victory is achieved,” he stated. He also paid tribute to fallen heroes, recognizing their sacrifices as an inspiration for continued service.
The CAS expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his unwavering support for the NAF, as well as the Minister of Defence, the Minister of State for Defence, and the Chief of Defence Staff for their contributions in strengthening the force. He also commended Katsina State Governor, Malam Umaru Dikko Radda, for his collaboration in enhancing security efforts.
In his remarks, the Air Component Commander of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Air Commodore O.I. Jibia, described the Sallah Luncheon as a morale-boosting event that allows senior officers to celebrate Eid-al-Kabir with frontline troops. He praised their unwavering dedication, emphasizing their role in ensuring national security.
The event concluded with a renewed sense of camaraderie among personnel, reinforcing their commitment to the ongoing fight against insecurity.
