The Kaduna Catholic Archdiocese has confirmed the abduction of one of its priests, Rev. Fr. Bobbo Paschal, following an attack on Kushe Gugdu community in Kagarko Local Government Area in the early hours of Monday, November 17, 2025.
Fr. Paschal, who serves as the Parish Priest of St. Stephen’s Catholic Parish, Kushe Gugdu, was taken from his residence during the assault. Several other residents were also abducted in the incident.
The Archdiocese further disclosed that the brother of another priest, Rev. Fr. Anthony Vero, was killed during the attack.
In a statement issued by the Chancellor of the Archdiocese, Rev. Fr. Christian Okewu Emmanuel, the Church called on Nigerians and “all men and women of goodwill” to pray for the safe release of the abducted individuals and for the repose of the deceased.
The Archdiocese expressed deep concern over the rising insecurity in the region and urged continuous prayers for peace and protection across Kaduna State.
