The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has dismissed the petition seeking to recall Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, citing non-compliance with constitutional requirements.
In an official statement, INEC stated that the petition failed to meet the conditions set forth in Section 69(a) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended). As a result, the recall process cannot proceed.
The commission reaffirmed its commitment to due process and adherence to legal provisions in electoral matters.
