Edo secures $250m EuroAfrica CCI investment at Glasgow summit

The Edo State Government has secured a $250 million investment commitment from the European African Chamber of Commerce and Industries (EuroAfrica CCI), a coalition of chambers of commerce spanning 98 countries across Europe and Africa.

The agreement was sealed during the 2025 Edo State Global Investment Summit in Glasgow, Scotland, and will see EuroAfrica CCI inject the funds over a period of three to five years.

Governor Monday Okpebholo, represented by the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, said the partnership would target key sectors including agriculture and agro-processing, mining and solid minerals, technical education, renewable energy, and green infrastructure.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to fostering an enabling business environment through simplified registration processes, transparent land administration, and tax incentives where necessary. “We will ensure transparency, accountability, and institutional support so that these investments translate into jobs, opportunities, and sustainable development for our people,” he said.

Director-General of EuroAfrica CCI, Amb. Dr. Kingsley Obasohan, pledged to align with Edo State’s and Nigeria’s local content policies, ensuring that the investments empower citizens by building capacity, creating employment, and strengthening value chains.

The agreement, set to run for an initial five years, will be subject to joint reviews to monitor progress and ensure accountability.
