EFCC apprehends 23 alleged internet fraudsters in Sokoto

In an operation carried out by the Sokoto Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), a total of twenty-three (23) individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud have been arrested.

The names of the apprehended individuals are: Joy Ofem, Azeez Naimot, Agabi O. Yusuf, Ibrahim Amodu, Aigbekan Daniel, Adedayo Michael, Iraran Mubarak, Olivine Habiblah, Wasiu Lukman Adekunle, Musa Abdulazeez, Abdullahi Ibrahim, Adegoh Nabiu Mohammed, Ibrahim Mubarak, Ahmed Ibrahim Abdullahi, Abdullahi Sanusi Adejoh, Umar Idris, Muhammad Nuhu, Feisal Ahmed, Aliyu Ismail, Elijah Adebayo, Zakariyau Ibrahim, Balogun Abdulkarim, and Buni Husaini.

These arrests were carried out on Friday, August 25, 2023, within the Bafarawa and Kalkalawa estates in Sokoto.

The apprehensions were the result of thorough surveillance and intelligence-gathering regarding their suspected involvement in cyber-related criminal activities.

Among the items confiscated from the suspects are two Toyota Corolla cars, three motorcycles, laptops, mobile phones, and a generator.

Once investigations are concluded, they will be brought before the court to face legal proceedings.
