The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Lagos Zonal Directorate 2, has arrested 12 individuals for alleged involvement in internet fraud.
The suspects — Jinadu Hammed, Phillip Gift, Ikemefuna Enekwechi, Daniel Edu, Ponmile Salami, David Uche Akpuru, Abdurahman Oroan, Eyiaromi Daniel, Sodipo Shinaayo, Confidence Henry Ifechukwudi, Samuel Afuap, and Eko Sylvanus — were apprehended during a sting operation on Thursday, July 31, 2025.
The operation was carried out on Spar Road, Salem Bus Stop in the Lekki area of Lagos State, following credible intelligence on the suspects’ alleged engagement in computer-related fraud.
The EFCC says investigations are ongoing and that the suspects will be charged to court upon conclusion of inquiries.
