The Kaduna Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 14 individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud in Jos, Plateau State.
According to a statement released by the EFCC, the suspects were apprehended on Saturday, March 8, 2025, during coordinated operations in the K-Vom and Rayfield areas of Jos. The arrests followed credible intelligence gathered on their alleged involvement in internet-related criminal activities.
During the operation, EFCC operatives recovered several items believed to be linked to the suspected fraudulent activities, including five laptops, 13 mobile phones, and two power banks.
The EFCC emphasized its commitment to tackling cybercrime and other forms of financial misconduct across the country. The agency stated that the suspects are currently in custody and undergoing further interrogation. Upon the conclusion of investigations, they will be formally charged in court.
The Commission reiterated its determination to combat internet fraud and urged the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the authorities.
