Operatives from the Uyo Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, carried out apprehensions on Tuesday, August 29, 2023. They detained 17 individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud across various spots in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
The arrests transpired as a result of a well-executed sting operation prompted by a series of informed tips that established a connection between the suspects and a wide array of illicit online activities.
Seized possessions encompass advanced mobile devices, a television unit, a crimson Toyota Camry LE vehicle, a ebony Honda car, and two Lexus automobiles.
The anti-graft agency said the suspects will be charged to Court as soon as the investigations are concluded.
